Slow Food USA Holds First Congress

From the Green Mountains of Vermont to the Piedmont of North Carolina; from the Central Valley of California to the sunlit mountains of New Mexico; from the grassy plains of Iowa to the bayous of Louisiana; Slow Food USA convivium leaders from all over the United States will come together for the first time on July 21 and 22 in Bolinas on the Marin coast of Northern California. Over two days of open forums and inspiring presentations, convivium leaders will have the chance to exchange ideas with the goal of uniting our 62 chapters and 5,000 members behind Slow Food USA’s mission.

The Congress will also serve as an opportunity for opinion leaders such as Alice Waters, Deborah Madison, Joan Gussow and Carlo Petrini to share their wisdom and perspective on Slow Food USA’s guiding principles: sustainability, cultural diversity, pleasure and quality in everyday life, inclusiveness, authenticity and integrity. By creating an opportunity for conviviality and an exchange of ideas, all surrounded by great food, the Congress will set the pace for Slow Food USA’s future.
