Slow Fish in Action
Promoting Responsible Fishing Through the Medium of Film
In today's age of images, we all know how effective pictures are at transmitting concepts and information. Short films, features and documentaries with powerful cinematography and moving music can make a huge contribution to a cause, raising awareness, educating and informing a wide audience.
The issue of sustainable fishing might seem remote to many people, or even completely irrelevant. But through film, through the words of real fishermen and the voices of experts, through images of huge nets full of fish, seas overrun by jellyfish and algae or the secret life of the ocean floor, the subject can become tangible, and the scale of the problem can hit us with the force of a slap.
Film is an essential element in strengthening the vital campaigns of our times, giving us the information we need to be able to make free and informed choices.
